All Saints’ Episcopal Church is hosting its annual “Blessing of the Pets” ceremony on Saturday, October 5th at 1 p.m. in honor of St. Francis Day and the public is invited to bring their pets. The Blessing of the Pets is an annual service at All Saints’ and includes people (and pets) of all denominations. In addition to hosting the “Blessing of the Pets,” All Saints’ Episcopal Church also commemorates the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi by pledging to help potential pet owners who are in-need by paying one-half of the adoption fee for a limited number of dog and cat adoptions from the Flathead County Animal Shelter, Flathead Spay & Neuter Task Force and the Humane Society of Northwest Montana.
The “Blessing of the Pets” ceremony is fun for all and each pet will receive a certificate, a St. Francis medal for his or her collar, and a treat commemorating their blessing. For the safety of all attendees and their pets, all pets must be on a leash, a lead, or in a cage.
All Saints’ Episcopal Church is located at 2048 Conn Road, half way between Whitefish and Columbia Falls, off Highway 40 on the south side.
