Humane Society of Northwest Montana Partners with Wings of Rescue Volunteer Pilots Save Dogs from Euthanization
Thanks to the coordinated efforts by Wings of Rescue, the Charlotte Edkins Animal Adoption Center welcomed 20 small breed dogs from California on Friday evening, December 6th. As winds roared and temperatures dropped to -9 degrees at Glacier Jet Center, local volunteer pilot, Bob and crew member, Michelle carefully unloaded crates from a private plane while Humane Society staff loaded the 20 Chihuahua mix dogs into a warm van. Followed by a short ride to the Adoption Center, all dogs were made comfortable in their new kennels and now await forever homes.
This is the third Holiday Airlift that Wings of Rescue has made happen in order to save the lives of animals that would have otherwise been euthanized. Wings of Rescue is a non-profit organization that consist of volunteer pilots who donate their time to transport animals from high kill animal shelters to rescue organizations in the North West.
